Return of the Farmers' Market

The farmers' market has returned! Technically, it has been returned for a few weeks now, but today is the first that a) it has been at mostly full strength, and b) I have managed to wake up early enough to attend. Hooray! Anyway, despite a morning that threatened rain, I moseyed on down there about 10 AM. The coffee folks were, alas, not there (or already sold out), and there aren't a lot of fruits for sale yet (though there were pleeeeennnnnty of asparagus and radishes). My haul was less leafy, but still wonderful:
  • Two potato and mushroom pirozhki
  • A jar of maple-flavored Greek yoghurt and a jar of spreadable fromage blanc
  • A loaf of honey wheat bread
  • A jar of pepper patch jam
  • Two ableskiver, which I'm told are the Danish version of doughnuts, doused in raspberry jam

I ran into a friend at the jam and ableskiver stand, and since the coffee folks were absent, we wended our way over to a nearby coffee shop and chatted over coffee and cranberry nut muffins.

All in all, today is delicious. And not even over yet! \o/
