Complicating Greens

Farmers' market again today! I woke up later than intended (around 10 AM) and rushed out the door. First, to North Grand:

I'm trying to get small bottles of honey from each farmer that sells. The couple that I bought this from said that one international student has them send big bottles of honey to family back in China--honey in their hometown, I guess, is often watered down with corn syrup. Kind of neat to think about, yeah? Also, I had SO MUCH ASPARAGUS from last week leftover (four bunches, y'all), so I just got the one. Not sure what I'll do with the raspberry balsamic vinegar yet, but the fate of the bok choy is sealed, as it will be paired with miso chicken. YEAH.

Then, to the Main Street market:

The butter lettuce T-shirt always goes over well, though only one person today (bank teller), actually knew what the reference was.

Arcadia Cafe was back (they'll be at the market every third Saturday), and as soon as I approached, they confessed they didn't have iced soy lattes this summer. I said I was cool with just iced coffee, and they dug out the non-dairy creamer for me, which was sweet. Fun to be remembered! Also, Elizabella Flowers was out of bouquets already, which I knew would happen. (Excited for their CSA started in June--guaranteed bouquets every week!)

I got a breakfast burrito from Burgie's, then saw that there was a stand selling meat dumplings (momo) to raise money for earthquake relief in Nepal, so I ate those while hanging out on the sidewalk. They had mango lassi, but since I have to side-eye anything dairy, I had to skip it. (WOE. Must figure out how to make dairy-free lassi, I guess.) Also, I just took a picture of the pug twins, but there were tons of dogs today, which is the fun part of coming later in the morning. There was this bulldog that I swear was an extra in Men in Black or something.

The yarn will also be going to friend Amelia with the skein I got a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what I will ask her to knit for me, but it will be awesome. I tried to vary up my greens, so the tatsoi is going to become part of a Meyer lemon risotto (with regular lemons, though). And the Cha-Cha Lima sugar from Saltlickers will, I think, be tossed with some sweet potato fries. Cannot. Wait.
