Oscars 2025 Nominations

It's that time again! Films marked in blue are ones I watched prior to the nominations and green are those I watched afterwards. For the few I decided not to watch, you'll find them struck through. As per usual, I've arranged them in the order of my preference.

Best Picture
  1. Anora
  2. Dune: Part Two
  3. Nickel Boys
  4. The Brutalist
  5. I'm Still Here
  6. A Complete Unknown
  7. Conclave
  8. Wicked
  9. Emilia Perez
And the one I chose not to watch, since horror isn't my bag:
  • The Substance

Actor in a Leading Role
  1. Colman Domingo in Sing Sing
  2. Sebastian Stan in The Apprentice
  3. Adrien Brody in The Brutalist

  1. Mikey Madison in Anora
  2. Fernanda Torres in I'm Still Here
  3. Cynthia Erivo in Wicked

And I KNOW, I'm sure Demi was great, but those unwatched go unranked:
  • Demi Moore in The Substance

Actress in a Supporting Role
  1. Zoe Saldaña in Emilia Perez
  2. Monica Barbaro in A Complete Unknown
  3. Ariana Grande in Wicked
  4. Felicity Jones in The Brutalist
  5. Isabella Rossellini in Conclave

Animated Feature Film
  1. The Wild Robot
  2. Flow
  3. Inside Out 2
  4. Memoir of a Snail

And I have never liked the Wallace & Gromit schtick, so.
  • Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

So I made the choice to not go and see the short films, but mostly because I had some work stuff to do. I count these as unranked instead of skipped!

  3. "Mi Camino" from Emilia Perez; Music and Lyric by Camille and Clément Ducol

I didn't watch two of the films, but I'm also counting them as unranked instead of skipped, since it's more a time issue than an unwillingness to watch them.
